The Connecticut Community Foundation is currently accepting grant requests for its fall 2012 round of funding. Please note that special guidelines apply for this round. For example, instead of requiring an initial letter of inquiry, any interested and eligible entity may submit an abridged general grant application form available at each of the specific web pages listed below. Please also note request amount limits for some funds as detailed below. 

The deadline to submit an application is Monday, October 1, 2012. 

Through funds established by area donors, the foundation’s grants program supports nonprofits in its 21-town service area of Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills. Funds support arts and culture, education, environment, health and human services, seniors, and youth development.  The foundation awarded more than $600,000 in grants in the spring and summer of 2012. 

Grants are currently available from the following funds and initiatives at the foundation. Agencies may apply to multiple funds for support, if requests meet fund criteria:

•Program Grants (maximum request size of $10,000 for this round): grants to support new, improved, or expanded programs and services; capital campaigns; equipment necessary for delivery of programs/services (www.conncf.org/program-grants)  
•Capacity Building Grants (maximum request size of $10,000 for this round): organizational capacity-building and technology grants to nonprofits (www.conncf.org/nai-grants)
•Pathways: Services for Seniors Initiative - grants for nonprofits that assist seniors in connecting to information and services so they can remain in their homes and be active members of their communities. Grants are made possible by the East Hill Woods Fund at the Foundation (www.conncf.org/seniors)   
•Environmental RFP: Public Education Campaign (maximum request size of $30,000) – Request For Proposals on educating general public about how our everyday decisions can have profound negative or positive impacts on our rivers and streams, so that we better understand the interconnected relationship between human activities and the health of our watersheds.
•Saunders Fund for the Sick and Infirm of the Borough of Naugatuck: to support nonprofits that provide health care and health-related services to residents of Naugatuck (www.conncf.org/saunders-fund)
•Southbury Community Trust Fund: grants for local nonprofits that offer youth development programs, address youth behavioral health needs, and provide social services for needy families with particular attention to food sufficiency; also considers grants in the arts, community and economic development, education, the environment and health and human services (www.conncf.org/southbury-fund)
