Protecting Homeowners from Eminent Domain
State Representative Larry B. Butler (D-Waterbury) is pleased to announce that a bill designed to protect homeowners from unfair eminent domain practices is heading to the House floor. HB 5454 was passed by the Planning and Development Committee on Friday. The bill would require homeowners to be paid the assessed value of the property if their home needs to be taken.
Sen. Joe Markley Rallies for Religious Freedom
Senator Joe Markley (R-Southington) joined hundreds in Hartford on March 23 as part of the National Rally for Religious Freedom. Sen. Markley addressed the crowd from the base of a statue honoring Revolutionary War hero Casimir Pulsaki.
Palace Theater April 21 Motorcycle Ride
The Palace Theater’s motorcycle ride fundraiser and Charlie Daniels Band concert that was postponed in October due to the unexpected death of the band’s keyboardist, Joel ‘Taz’ DiGregorio, has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 21, at 10 a.m. Registration for the rescheduled motorcycle ride will begin at 10 a.m.
