Jane Doe No More founder Donna Palomba provided expert commentary during a news segment on New York television station WPIX 11 this week. She will be featured again this Friday, April 6, on Connecticut’s Fox 61 news during the 9:00AM news hour.

The Business Expo presented by the Waterbury Regional Chamber’s Small Business Council, will be held on Weds., April 11, 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. The region’s largest business expo with over 90 business exhibitors, hors d’oeuvres, beverages, raffle prizes, the expo’s popular “Scavenger Hunt” for prizes, and special drawings to non-Waterbury Regional Chamber members for $100 gift certificate. D’Amelio & Noujaim Support Cap on Tax
State Representatives Anthony D’Amelio (R-71) and Selim Noujaim (R-74) today voted to cap the gross receipts tax on gasoline sparing the driving public further pain at the pump and reducing an onerous hidden tax that has plagued unknowing Connecticut drivers for years. The veteran legislators also proposed locking in the percentage rate.

A Poetic Earth Day
The Mattatuck Unitarian Universalist Society will sponsor an Earth Day poetry open-mic night on Wednesday, April 18th at 7 pm. The event will be held at the society's meeting house at 122 South Pomperaug Avenue in Woodbury. Doors will open at 6:45 pm. Please come celebrate Earth Day! Bring your favorite poem or song honoring the earth. A $5 donation is suggested. Coffee and snacks will be served.
CT Sanctuary Open House, May 6

Shepaug Railroad: History & Memories

Bob Devine, the last living employee of the Shepaug Railroad, will discuss his memories of working for the railroad that came through Washington Depot on Tuesday April 17 at 6:30pm in the Wykeham Room of the Gunn Library.
"Looking" - A Comedy at Clockwork Rep Theater

Naugatuck Valley Savings & Loan Supports Smile Builders
The Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan Foundation has awarded funds to StayWell Health Care, Inc. to support the Smile Builders Program. Since 2010, StayWell has been providing prophys (cleanings) and sealants in at the Naugatuck Head Start and public schools. Uninsured students have been provided services free of charge throughout these past two years. The generous award of $500 will be used to support the supplies and staffing needed to continue to provide these services.
