Butler Led Passage of Urban Revitalization Bill

State Representative Larry B. Butler (D-Waterbury) led unanimous passage of a bill on the House floor that would establish an urban revitalization pilot program offered through the Department of Economic Development (DECD).    Low interest loans will be made available to foster stabilization of neighborhoods in distressed areas.   Non-profit organizations in the revitalization area would be selected to administer the program.

Nutmeg Chapter Business Women's Meeting, June 4

The Nutmeg Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will hold its monthly meeting on June 4th, at Junipers Restaurant, Whittemore Road in Middlebury.  Networking starts at 6pm and dinner at 6:30pm


The guest speaker will be Heather Hansen O'Neill, award-winning speaker, author, and coach. She is President of Progressive Image and creator of the "Fire in Five" program.

Annual Memorial Service for Teachers

The Waterbury Retired Teachers Association will conduct it seventeenth annual memorial service, honoring Waterbury educators who passed away during the 2011-2012 school year. The event, scheduled for June 20, 2012, will be held at SS Peter and Paul Church in Waterbury at 10:30 AM.  Families, friends and former students are cordially invited to attend this service.

Naugatuck AFJROTC ‘Best of the Best’

Unit CT-941, Naugatuck High School AFJROTC program has been selected as one of only 108 units out of 882 to receive the coveted 2011-2012 Air Force Junior ROTC Distinguished Unit with Merit Award. This award recognizes the ‘best of the best’ Air Force Junior ROTC units that have performed above and beyond normal expectations, and that have distinguished themselves through outstanding service to their school and community while meeting the Air Force Junior ROTC mission of producing better citizens for America.

Easter Seals Scholarships Available

Easter Seals scholarships are available to eligible individuals with disabilities who are pursuing a post-secondary degree at an accredited college or university.
