Raffle Winners at Palace Theater
Lady Luck was smiling down on eight winners, who took home the top prizes in the Palace Theater’s 2012 Annual Fund Raffle drawing during the venue’s film themed, end-of-the-year fundraising event, “Keys Goes to the Movies,” on Saturday, June 2.

Donna Marie Merritt will be the featured poet at this month’s Calling All Poets ( . . . and poetry lovers) program Wednesday, June 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Silas Bronson Library, 267 Grand St. The program, which is free and open to the public, is hosted by Victoria Muñoz. Those wanting to participate in the Open Mic part of the program can sign-up at 6:20.

The Palace Theater is opening its doors for a day of tours, special offers, and an exclusive sneak preview of the assembly of Waterbury’s largest piece of mosaic artwork during Connecticut Open House Day on Saturday, June 9, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Former NY Giants in Middlebury Fundraiser
Former New York Giants players will be visiting and competing as the Middlebury Police Explorers are proud to bring to the community a New York Giants Alumni Charity Flag Football game on Saturday, June 2nd at 7 PM at Pomperaug High School in Southbury. In addition to the main event there will be a chance for autographs and pictures after the game. Money raised will help programs supported by the Middlebury Police Explorers throughout the year. Tickets will be available at the door for a suggested $10 donation.
