A local theater group based in southern Connecticut will dramatize the wildly imaginative Dead Man’s Cell Phone, a new comedy by award-winning playwright Sarah Ruhl. The play opens April 24 at the Thomaston Opera House Arts Center and runs for eight performances.

The 3rd Annual Ion Bank Cheshire Half Marathon & 5K takes place on April 27th. Last year’s race had nearly 3,000 runners and this year’s event is limited to 3,500 entrants. “This year’s race should be our biggest yet with entries running ahead of last year’s record pace,” said Bill Costello, Race President.
Energize Connecticut, in partnership with Connecticut Light & Power and the United Illuminating Company, is proud to announce the tenth annual eesmarts contest for students in grades K-12.
The annual eesmarts Student Contest invites Connecticut K-12 students to showcase their “energy smarts” about energy-saving, renewable energy, and sustainability through various media forms. Finalists for each grade level will be honored at a special awards ceremony on June 5, at the State Capitol in Hartford.

Silas Bronson Library, Waterbury’s Public Library, will be hosting Master Gardner Sherri LeBlanc on Saturday April 12 at 1 p.m. Sherri will be discussing and demonstrating Container Gardening. Container Gardening is a fun and creative hobby for both adults and children. It is good for those with limited space and limited time.
